Use Your Dog to Make Friends and Get Dates

In neighborhoods all across the country dog owners meet while walking their dogs. One man has changed the world of socializing for dog owners in a fun an innovating way.

Elk Grove Village, IL January 18 2004--Dog owners throughout the nation develop a bond and attachment for their pets that is as strong as those experienced by parents for their children, and as a result they have similar desires to the love and affection they feel for man's best friend.

In neighborhoods all across the country dog owners meet while walking their dogs. One man has changed the world of socializing for dog owners in a fun an innovating way.

"I used to walk my Golden Retriever Benny in the neighborhood everyday. It seemed like on every walk we would come across another new dog and master. The dog's would always have to meet and sniff each other. We would always make small talk by asking 'what is your dogs name?' But the interesting thing is you would never ask what their name was," said Rodney Ash, creator of PawCards.

"Over the span of a year, I got to know the names of over 50 dogs in the neighborhood, but interestingly enough I only knew the name of a couple of owners. Even worse, I think nobody knew my name or remembered it. After creating PawCards everything changed. I got to know everyone's name and visa versa.

"Now we are all social and oftentimes have parties and other social activities. I can contribute this to simply handing out PawCards," explained Ash.

PawCards.com offers other dog owners a fun way to share the special bond they have with their pet. Customers love the cards and are quick to share some of their experiences and uses for them.

"Ben has taught us to be grateful for life's simple pleasures, like going for a car ride, playing ball or simply enjoying one another's company. Even if we've left the house for mere minutes, Ben is always at the door to greet us with a panting tongue, wagging tail and unconditional love," said Colleen Ash, wife of Rodney.

"Developing the PawCard was our way of showing how much Ben means to our family," she added.

Similar in size to a business card, PawCards are customized to include whatever information you would like to share about your dog, such as your dog's photograph, name, hobbies, hometown, breed as well as your contact information if desired.

Customers are finding some additional, rather interesting uses for PawCards.

"My kids love giving them to their friends, and my husband and I have given them out to family members when they come to visit. Everyone we give them to loves the picture and the design," said Nancy Montero.

Others have reported that trading PawCards with others has also become a fun activity, particularly for children. Everyone has pride in their dog, and PawCards give people a way to share their feelings with others.

Dog owners are creative about what they put on the PawCards. Not only do they use them to show their affection for their dog, they also use them to impress the opposite sex.

"Many singles have reported that PawCards have been a great way to get a conversation going with someone they would like to meet," explained Rodney Ash.

"When I go for a walk with Loki I have no trouble meeting girls," said Ed O'Sullivan. "Now I carry Loki's PawCards with me and use them to get something started any time, even when Loki is not with me.

"Loki is a cute Black Lab, and the photo on his PawCard is the next best thing when he's not around. Girls like reading Loki's list of hobbies I put on the card especially watching Animal Planet. It gets them to smile and relax, and of course they want to meet Loki," said O'Sullivan.

PawCards also has a safety benefit. Having a PawCard created for your dog provides a great resource that is ready to hand out all over your neighborhood just in case something does happen to your dog.

"If your dog is suddenly missing, you do not want to delay the search process. Hand out your PawCards to everyone in your neighborhood, but if you do not have them ready to go you will have a major delay before you can begin the search process. Everything you need will be right there on your PawCards," explained Ash.
